RV Insurance

Because RVs are mobile possessions with the ability to cause damage to other individuals and their property, RVs are typically not covered by home owner's insurance. Consequently, RV owners must find alternate means of insurance and determine the amount of insurance they need.

Liability Insurance

RV liability insurance is similar to the liability insurance that every state requires drivers to buy for their cars. Because this type of insurance pays for any physical injuries and property damage that are caused by the policy holder, liability insurance is also sometimes called Bodily Injury and Property Damage Insurance (BIPD). This type of insurance can apply to many types of recreational vehicles, such as travel trailers, motor homes and campers.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist

This type of insurance covers the cost of damages inflicted by another driver who is unable to pay for the damages caused because he or she has little or no insurance.

Comprehensive

This insurance safe guards policy holders from paying for damages incurred through natural forces that cannot be placed on any one accountable individual. A few of these forces include fires, floods and falling rocks. Comprehensive coverage is almost always optional.

Insurance to Cover the Home Portion of your Motor Home

Because an RV is not only a vehicle, but also a home, owners may choose to buy additional coverage to insure the plumbing and electrical systems and personal property contained in the home, such as a T.V., furniture and clothes. The more time and money you put into your RV, the more insurance you may want to buy to protect it.
